A visual representation about a unique reality with its own rules and habits, new movements, forms and ways of being. We are together, we exist, we grow and transform. Recognizable and absurd, predictable and unexpected. We deal with the (female) body, transformation and growth. Twelve consists of only women and that makes the group very interesting. This fact was the starting point for the new performance. Where there has already been research into the physical aspect of being female with the performance Light Digestible, the focus is now shifted to the spiritual aspect. We examine our thinking and our actions. Through which we experience happiness, which makes us sad. But also how we function as a group is a great source of inspiration. What does it mean to deal with only women? Where are the irritation points? What do we excel in? In addition to being a woman, a second source of inspiration is central: change. Twelve wonder what needs to be changed, why we want to change and whether change is really that good for us. Change always causes resistance. There are groups that are for change, groups that do everything to prevent the change, and groups that go with the flow. Twelve wonders in which group they belong, and whether they agree with that.
TWAALF is a new theatre company formed by twelve Theatre Design students. We make visual theatre that challenges your conception about everyday subjects.
We officially started last year with the first performance we made as a whole group, named Slightly Digestible. The experience was amazing and after we were chosen to perform at the We Are Now festival in London we decided:
We will start our own theatre company! click here for the TWAALF website
